Seeking Expert Help – Who and How They Can Help
I realize not everyone has the time or money to pay for the following, but it is really a GREAT step for you to be on your way to reaching your ideal weight. Here’s a great list to start out with:
Doctor. I can’t stress this enough! If you aren’t in your early to mid twenties, it is important to talk to your Doctor to get a green light before you go 100 miles an hour in the gym. My Grandpa died at 49 of a massive heart attack. He played hockey the night he died. He had hemochromotosis. His heart couldn’t pump the blood because it was too rich in iron and thick. Other than that, he was in good health. Go in for annual checkups, even if you are in tip top condition to be on the safe side. Your family will thank you.
Dietitian. A Dietician will help you assess your current diet and help you with a proper nutrient rich and healthy one. You might even be surprised that your weight problem has more to do with not eating enough than eating to much!
Personal Trainer. My wife is a personal trainer, among the many other things she does well. It’s amazing to me how much is involved in becoming a personal trainer and what it takes to maintain their certification. A good trainer will help find any weakness and instabilities you may have. They will give you a good plan for strengthening your body, and most will give you a good meal planner, too. Ask around at local gyms or your friends who they might know. I started losing weight a lot faster when I hired a friend to train me (before my wife was in the picture). It was money well spent.
Weight Loss Coach/Counselor. Many people have found great success with Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig, to name a few. If you have the money, they can help with meal planning, support and accountability so you can check half of the above list off at one place.
