I got within 10 pounds of my goal weight when the triathlon came around. I was so thankful I didn’t drown! Ha ha…
That weekend, my mom and kids were there with me at my apartment. I went through all my “fat” clothes and donated them to a local charity. I ended up giving away about $3000.00 worth of clothes. I had kept them even though they were way too big because I thought I’d get fat again and I was afraid I’d need them. My mom said maybe I shouldn’t give them away just yet. I told her I couldn’t afford to keep them.
I can’t tell you I lost all my weight in a short period of time. As a matter of fact, I still haven’t hit my goal weight and I have yo-yo’d a few times since I made the decision to get healthy.
In the past few months a lot has happened and I’ve put some weight back on. I now have about 25 pounds to lose. This time, I know I can do it and I know how.
And that’s what Slim Cotton is all about. I slimmed down and so did my cotton shirts. Well, that’s at least part of what Slim Cotton is about.
Slim Cotton is my story of losing weight, struggling to keep it off, getting side-tracked and putting weight back on, and losing it again. What I did and how I did it. But it’s also bigger than that…
You’ve only known me for a few minutes, but I want you to know I really care about you! I do. Since you’re here, you more than likely have a story similar to mine. You know what it’s like to put on clothes that once fit better than they currently do. You’re tired. You’re frustrated that you gained back the weight you worked so hard to lose in the first place. You struggle with your body image and want so badly to change it. Etc., etc.
I am passionate about wellness – not just physical wellness, but that’s what this site is about. I’m going to share the things I know that work, things I know that definitely didn’t work, and I’ll always be looking out for breaking news stories for exciting things to come.
This isn’t just something you do until you “get there”, to your goal or whatever it may be. I like what Bill Phillips says about his Body For Life program; It’s called Body for LIFE, not Body for 90 Days. As long as we’re breathing, we need to pay attention to our health, fitness and wellness.
